The Institute of Rural Reconstruction of China is a research institution in Southwest University. Since its establishment in 2012, the institute serves as a platform of developing specialized research on rural regeneration for sustainable development under the philosophy of “Ecological Civilization”. With the head of SWU serving as the Dean, distinguished Professor Wen Tiejun, as its Executive Dean, the institute succeeds the abundant historical resources on rural reconstruction and cultural legacy, reinforces its scientific studies and personnel trainings on contemporary rural regeneration and sustainable development in China.
IRRC conducts multidisciplinary study and relevant theoretical research on Ecological Civilization and sustainable development; makes policy recommendations based on contemporary research studies on sustainable rural development, rural governance and farmers rights protection; and provides social services to meet local needs of sustainable development based on innovations and good practices generated from local intervention and practices both from local and aborad.
